Godine Family Gallery is located at the Massachusetts College Of Art in Boston, MA, and began showing visual art just over a year ago. The gallery offers a big, open space with large windows and high ceilings which worked beautifully with Mark's artwork.
This showing of Mark's Postcard Diary prints was part of a larger annual event called Eventworks, which also featured live performances by a few great bands, including Mahi Mahi, Mad Man Films, Wild Life, and Holy Ghost Revival. There was a wide variety of student art displayed in adjacent rooms, and a steady flow of people enjoying all Eventworks had to offer until around 11:30pm.
Krystin Walters, aka Klocko Peacocko, was kind enough to help me with the drive from North Carolina to Boston, and with the opening reception at MassArts. She also helped me with last year's Screen Arts Gallery show in St. Augustine, FL. Thank you for your pleasant company and dutiful assistance, Krystin!
It was good to see few friends of mine from the Boston area who attended at the reception: Tom Keirstead (Mothersbaugh art collector extraordinaire), Pete-vo DeVincent (w/ his new DEVO tattoo), Seth Putnam (of Boston's grind core darlings Anal Cunt), Professor Von Marko, Paulie and Christine Kraynak (of Full Blown A.I.D.S.), and Matt Gress (of Boston's Dick Panthers).
Thanks to everyone who attended the opening reception on April 8th, and especially those who purchased artwork and/or merchandise. We absolutely appreciate your interest in the artwork of Mark Mothersbaugh, and for your support of our gallery tours.
Thanks to Matt, Sean, and Sahra at Godine Family Gallery for all their efforts in making a successful and enjoyable opening reception.
The next Mothersbaugh art show will open in Norwich, UK on May 8, 2006.
Hope to see some of you there!
