The Ingenuity Festival is in it's 3rd year, providing Cleveland with four days of creativity & innovation. The event featured both indoor and outdoor events & exhibits in Cleveland's Playhouse Square.
The Ingenuity Festival spanned several days over the weekend. There was an opening reception party on Thursday, July 19th, but Mark's artwork was on public display through July 22nd, which provided a large audience for the Beautiful Mutant prints.
20 of Mothersbaugh's framed Beautiful Mutant prints were displayed at the Ingenuity Festival art show, featuring prints dating back to Mark Mothersbaugh's 2004 and 2005 tours, as well as a couple prints making their debut in 2007.
Mark Mothersbaugh couldn't attend the reception himself, unfortunately. He was in Spain performing with DEVO on July 20th.
However, a young man named Mark R. Muthersbaugh did attend! (No Kidding!) Click the "Muthersbaugh" thumbnail image to the left for more info on that.
Photographer Janet Macoska was working the Ingenuity Festival, and stopped by Mark's exhibit a few times throughout the weekend. Janet is an old friend of DEVO who shot photos of them way back in the 1970's. A few of her DEVO prints are available for sale on her web site.
Special thanks to James Levin, Joan Perch, and Paul Biber for all their hard work & efforts in getting Mark's artwork included in the Ingenuity Festival. We hope to be part of the event next year, too. Thanks also to Allison, Matt, Mark & Jane, Chelsea, Jessica, Samantha, and John for visiting me at the gallery space during the event.
Maybe we'll see you all at the Asterisk Gallery Mothersbaugh "Postcard Diaries" show next month in Cleveland? (Aug. 24th - the night before the DEVOtional fan event at Beachland Ballroom on Aug. 25th).
